Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Approves ₹490 crore Grant for 2,055 panchayat houses

Recently, the Gujarat government has taken a major step to improve rural development. Chief Minister Bhupendra has approved a ₹490 crore grant to build 2,055 new Gram Panchayat houses across the state. This project will help every village have its own office and a small home for the Talati-Mantri, who looks after local records and services. The aim is to make government work easier, faster, and closer to the people living in rural areas. It also shows the state's focus on providing better facilities and creativity. 

Key Highlights of the Project
Under this plan, a total of 2,055 Gram Panchayat houses will be built in different parts of Gujarat. The project has been started to make sure that every village has a proper office for local administration. These buildings will also include a small residence for the Talati-Mantri, who manages village records and daily work. The government has decided the grant amount based on the size and population of each village, so every area gets fair support. This move will help improve facilities in rural parts of the state and make it easier for people to get government services without having to travel far.   

Funding and Distribution Details
The government has planned the grant amount according to the population of each village. Bigger villages will receive a higher amount to build larger offices, while smaller villages, big or small, can build a proper Gram Panchayat house. The money will be used for construction, basic facilities, and furniture needed for smooth office work. By balancing and providing equal growth opportunities across all the rural areas of Gujarat. 

According to the sources, villages whose population are than 10,000 are allocated Rs.. 40 Lakh, also those villages whose population is between 5,000 to 10,000 are allocated Rs. 34.83 lakh. Moreover, villages with a population below 5,000 are allocated Rs 25 lakh for constructing Gram Panchayat - Talati Mantri Awas. 

This is the first time that where Chief Minister has given permission of 489.95 crore for new Panchayat houses in 2,055 Gram Panchayats of the state.
